South of Chicago Pizza and Beef now open in Fishers’ Saxony
Now Northsiders can enjoy authentic Chicago pizza with the opening of South of Chicago Pizza and Beef at Saxony. It is the first pizzeria in Saxony and the second location for South of Chicago, which opened in Indianapolis’ Fletcher Place neighborhood about three years ago.
The restaurant will feature traditional-style Chicago pizza and local craft beers. Founder Bob Jaeger, a Chicago native who now lives in Indianapolis, built his restaurant concept on the simple philosophy of using fresh ingredients and bringing Chicago-style pizza and Italian beef sandwiches to Indianapolis, including hand-made crusts and meatballs, fresh Italian sausage delivered from Chicago’s best markets and Gonnella French Bread shipped from Chicago daily.
In addition to a dining room, patio seating and a full bar, South of Chicago offers carry-out, delivery and catering. The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The bar is open until midnight through the week and until 1 a.m. on weekends.
“We are thrilled to welcome South of Chicago Pizza and Beef to Saxony,” said Sean McKinnies, Senior Vice President at Saxony Management Company. “It’s a perfect fit for the village.”
